Rebasing, relining and reabsorption

It is essential to adjust your dentures when they become too big. As the bone in the jaw heals with time, and the gum thins down, your dentures, which may become too big, can hurt it.

Relining fills the gap created by the healed bone by adding acrylic to the inside of your dentures.
This process stabilizes the dentures and prolongs their useful life, in addition to providing a better fit with the gum.

Rebasing consists of replacing the acrylic of the dentures in the laboratory, while retaining the teeth of your old dentures.
